This is a 3 level playable demo.DEMO REVIEW
Billed as an action role playing game this demo could better be described as a belonging to that well-known genre - dragon flight-sim. It’s a novel concept and a welcome break from the traditional role-playing mold.
Just like it sounds, you pilot a dragon brimming with weapons of mass destruction ranging from brimstone breath to the oh-so-satisfying devour skill.
Admittedly your arsenal is limited to begin with but the game’s role-playing system allows you to level up gradually and learn new techniques to rain down death from above including a wide variety of magical spells.
To start with you might just be too busy taking in the idyllic valleys and gently swaying forests to play the game. Make the most of swooping, soaring and diving before the novelty wears off.
The only graphical let down is that enemies look like oddly distended reef creatures rather than anything recognizable and as such are not incredibly satisfying to roast.
The controls are simple enough but your dragon can sometimes feel less like an emperor of the skies and more like a winged cow. Point and click to fly to a location and change your altitude with keyboard controls.
Fly low and you’ll find it easier to flame grill your enemies but the trade off is being more vulnerable to their counter-attacks.
At times I of the Dragon can be a frustrating experience due to maneuverability issues and sometimes-cumbersome controls but stick with it and you’ll find this game surprisingly enjoyable when you least expect it.
